Position Overview:
The Machinist plays a crucial role in maintaining tools, storing programs on CNC machines, and assembling compressors and components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure high quality workmanship and pay attention to detail.
- Perform basic tool maintenance.
- Create and store programs on CNC machines.
- Load programs, tools, and their calibration.
- Handle machining on manual machines.
- Identify areas for improvement and use non-conformance forms when necessary.
- Accurately track and allocate time to each job.
- Set up and operate at least one of the following: Integrex 410, Integrex 200 ST, QT3S, VTC – 16B, FH4800, or H-630.
- Conduct R&D machining.
- Set up, operate, and program at least 2 of the following: Integrex 410, Integrex 200 ST, QT3S, VTC – 16B, FH4800, or H-630.
- Perform NCR Repair – minor modifications for Engineering.
- Mentor and/or provide technical advice to other machine shop employees and management (such as assisting operators with setups).
- Understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
- Always follow safe work procedures and promote safety in the workplace.
- Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job.
- Use the required protective clothing, devices, and equipment for the job.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
- Perform work according to our client's documented policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Excellent organizational skills, innovative, and attentive to quality and detail.
- Knowledge of equipment, tools, and mechanical devices.
- 1–3 years of CNC Machine Shop experience.
- Journeyman Machinist or equivalent experience.
- Machinist II: CNC Programming Certificate (Level III/IIII/ Trade will be advantageous).
Physical:
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
