We are seeking a permanent, full-time Material Handling Equipment Mechanic for our Winnipeg location.

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Material Handling Equipment Mechanic will:
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of material handling equipment, industrial batteries, and charging systems.
- Assist with building maintenance and refrigeration maintenance as needed.
- Perform emergency repair work and breakdowns on the building, grounds, installations, and equipment (such as racking systems, mobile and dock equipment) as required.
- Complete required documentation/reports in the facility Maintenance Management System (Guide TI) to plan jobs, facilitate the creation of work orders to track all maintenance activities, and generate and distribute purchase orders for the supply of spares and services.
- Manage spare parts inventory and organize the maintenance shop. Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools. Evaluate and recommend the purchase of related equipment and supplies to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Coordinate with external contractors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations and Food Safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with all warehouse rules, policies, procedures, and standards, including HACCP and BRC.
- Perform other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of experience in repair and maintenance of material handling equipment required.
- 1+ year of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment, propane, gasoline, diesel.
